Bulk refill hygiene evidence
A 2023 peer-reviewed study of 104 liquid-soap dispensers collected from hotel rooms in Germany reported bacterial contamination in 70.2% of refillable pump dispensers versus 10.6% of nonrefillable press dispensers. This does not mean every refill system is contaminated. Read the study.
EU PPWR and hotel miniatures
EU Regulation 2025/40, Article 25 and Annex V, restricts specified single-use packaging for cosmetics, hygiene and toiletry products in the accommodation sector from 1 January 2030. This is an EU rule, not a worldwide ban; final product classification should be confirmed for each market and use model. Read the regulation.
